Hi - Tech Eye Surgery Clinic is a specialized Clinic for Eye Surgery, i.e. Refractive Implant & Cataract Surgery in Vadodara (India ), in collaboration with Human Optics, Germany, leading innovator of intraocular lenses, whose mission is to set up high technology cataract surgery clinics, all over India and abroad.. The Clinic is an associate of India?s leading chain of laser vision correction clinics, New Vision Laser Centers (www.newvisionindia.com), and India?s leading chain of cosmetic laser surgery clinics, New Look Cosmetic Laser Clinics (www.newlookindia.com). We also have a tie-up with Hi-Tech Clinics, Erlangan, Germany, which supports us by training our doctors and exchanging research information as well as by helping us to design and equip our clinic.
The Clinic is equipped with latest state of the art equipments with facilities for high tech implants like 1CU, Toric IOL for catract surgery, besides training section to cater the training needs of doctors. It also carries out cataract surgeries at concessional rates for the needy and has specialized equipments for glaucoma detection and follow-up. It is manned by extremely experienced eye surgeons who have experience of doing thousands of cataract surgery operations. Along with cataract surgery, we also take special interest in refractive implants, for those patients who are not suitable candidates for laser vision correction. This includes patients who have high myopia and hyperopia, as well as patients who have thin corneas, or corneas which are too steep or too flat. All such patients can benefit from clear lens extraction combined with intraocular lens implantation. For surgery, the clinic is equipped with a Carl Zeiss Visu 150 microscope and the Megatron Phaco Machine from Gueder. For diagnostic purposes, we have a Carl Zeiss SL/30 Slit Lamp, as well as a Sonomed A Scan, in addition to many other other facilities. Our glaucoma facilities include a Dicon Field Analyzer, a Humphrey Frequency Doubling Perimeter, as well as a Heiderlberg Retinal Tomography system.
Doctors
The Medical Director, Dr. Rupal Shah, M.S., is one of the most prolific refractive surgeons in India, having treated around 15,000 eyes over 9 years. Other consultants at the Clinic are Dr. Nirav Patel, M.S. and Dr. Fakhri Jiruwala. Dr. Patel has extensive experience in phacoemulsification ( more than 2,000 Phaco Surgery ), and is a very good teacher, having taught phacoemulsification and small incision cataract surgery to several colleagues from India & abroad.
Intensive Phacoemulsification Training Course
The center offers several courses for those physicians interested in learning phacoemulsification and small incision cataract surgery. The course is conducted by highly experienced faculty members who have about 50 man years of experience in phaco surgery. The Course has extensive wet lab sessions, and all the participants also get an opportunity to perform phaco under the guidance of experienced surgeons. The course has been highly appreciated by the participants in the past. Number of Ophthalmologists from Germany, USA, UK, France, Middle East Countries besides Indian sub-continent have already undergone this course to their great satisfaction. This is a Personalized Training Program ( one to one ) and we take a single participant at a time only. Thus the registration is on first come on first serve basis.
Short Term Intensive Course: The short term course allows the trainee to perform operations on about 10 - 20 eyes, under the supervision and guidance of the clinic surgeons over a period of 7 - 10 days. The trainee will learn incision architecture, capsulorhexis, hydisssection and hydro dileaneation, nucleus sculpting and division, various phaco techniques, cortical cleanup, as well as lens implantation.
Month Long Intensive Phaco Course: This will be similar to the short term course, except that the number of eyes that the trainee will get to operate on, will be around 30 - 50, out of which 20 will be unsupervised (in case the senior consultant is satisfied), over a period of around 15 ? 25 ays. At the end of this course, it is expected that the trainee will master the technique of phacoemulsification, and will be in a position to do surgery independently.
Laser DCR Course : We also run a 2 days Course with hands on training on a revolutionary new way of performing DCR with Laser. Unique advantages of the Laser DCR procedure include a lower recurrance rate, an extremely short procedure with zero patient down time and no bleeding. The course is geared to help those ophthalmologists who intend to perform DCR with laser. The course is conducted by highly experienced faculty members and includes hands-on surgery.
Facilities
For training, we have a full fledged library, wet lab facilities, for working with animal eyes, CCTV systems with the microscope, video recording and various tools to master the art of phacoemulsification.
